Upsilon Pi Epsilon Initiation - Nova Southeastern University - June 2, 2006
The UPE Chapter of Nova Southeastern University had its seventh initiation ceremony at NSU on Friday June 2, 2006. At this event 24 student members and two honorary faculty members: Dr. Wei Li, Dr. Marti M. Snyder, and one special honorary member: Mr. Steve Wozniak were initiated.

A Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist for the past three decades, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak helped shape the computing industry with his design of Apple's first line of products, the Apple I and II, and his influence on the popular Macintosh computer. For his achievements at Apple Computer, Mr. Wozniak was awarded the National Medal of Technology by the President of the United States in 1985, the highest honor bestowed upon America's leading innovators.
In 2000, Mr. Wozniak was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame and was awarded the prestigious Heinz Award for Technology, The Economy and Employment for "single-handedly designing the first personal computer and for then redirecting his lifelong passion for mathematics and electronics toward lighting the fires of excitement for education in grade school students and their teachers."
Mr. Wozniak holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a honorary doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University.
