Texas A&M Chapter of UPE Receives Significant Donation from Spectra Energy
Our Upsilon Pi Epsilon chapter located in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University recently received a $1000 donation from Spectra Energy Corporation. We don't know how or why our UPE chapter was brought to Spectra's attention, but we're glad it was.
Upsilon Pi Epsilon was founded at Texas A&M in 1967. Dr. Dan Drew, Director of the Computer Science Division in the School of Engineering at A&M and retired Professor Emeritus, was the principal advisor to the six computer science students who are credited with the founding of UPE. Over the years, our chapter has participated in department, college, university, and community events. Among them are visits to local industries, hosting science experiment booths at our local mall as part of our campus Student Engineering Council's efforts to build interest in high school students and the community, and volunteering to answer questions from prospective college students and parents during campus recruiting.
